Motor City Josh (MCJ) A dynamite trio that produces extreme energy, with the flavor of Funky Blues you can't refuse! The Detroit band, Motor City Josh hit the road in February to play a 26 night tour in the south part of the U.S.A. in southern states like Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, .. etc. I caught up with them at the Blue Goose, in St Clair Shores, Michigan; Where MCJ was playing the last weekend before they hit the road. Motor City Josh is comprised of the following members. JOSH FORD (Guitar, Vocals and Song Writer) CHRIS DOUGLAS (Bass and Vocals) JUSTIN HEADLEY (Drums) As I sat and listened to Josh and his original music, I was astonished with his lyrics and his sound, but what really made the difference between him and the other great bands I have saw over my career, was his entertainment skills. Josh was on top of everything that an entertainer needs to excel in this business and his stage presence was very up-lifting and happy. He has more facial expressions than any musician and I have seen. And it shows that his love for the Funky Blues is his drive behind his talent. I think Josh played three to four cover-tunes that night and the rest of the night was nothing but original music he has written over the years. And the crowd loved it. Some of the tunes I heard and really liked were, I Paid the Doctor, Born In The Doghouse, I Was Born To Play The Blues, .. and Detroit Lady. The pictures I took only scratches the surface of what the night was like. If I had to sum up MCJ in one word it would be SPECTACULAR! Great Show Guys! I’ll see you on the 11th of March.

JOSH FORD - It’s been said that Josh has been around the sounds of rhythm and blues for virtually his entire life, and I must tell you when I went to catch the show, I was absolutely impressed with Josh’s stage presence, funky drive and natural act. He is truly a natural on stage. And he plays guitar with a funky style that is very moving. CHRIS DOUGLAS - Chris has a great style behind the band and produces funk flavor that will stick in your mind for some time. His well established background, and ability to kick it out, makes him and excellent bassist for the MCJ band. JUSTIN HEADLEY - Justin is the newest member of MCJ and delivers an awesome beat to the band. He is a young energetic drummer that has a solid dynamic response and a fine fresh feel that is truly appealing to the total sound that MCJ can produce.
