Larry McCray and his band played a fantastic show Saturday August 26, 2006
as the main event for Midland’s Battle of the Bands, and the naming of the new
baseball team The Great Lake Loons. Larry is one of Michigan’s finest local
musicians and has had the opportunity to play along with many popular artists
such as B.B. King, The Almond Brothers and many more.

Larry has been an influence for many local artists and is looked upon as one of the
areas best bluesman. But I also want to let you know that he is one of the most
humble people I have ever met, always a gentleman, and always a friend of many.

Be sure to watch on line and in many of the areas local papers for appearing dates. Come September catch him at the Frankenmuth Blues Bash. The fest runs
September 22 – 23 in Frankenmuth’s Heritage Park. Johnny Winter plays on Friday and
Larry McCray plays on Saturday. Also playing that weekend is Thornetta Davis and Joanna Connors, among others.
If you miss that weekend you can catch another show on November 12th where he’ll play
at the Temple Theatre in Saginaw along with legendary bluesman B.B. King and
Thornetta Davis.

While on stage, always looking to promote other artist,
Larry called up one of our very own local artist Dave Kellan.

Larry graciously shared the stage and let Dave rock out, and what a great job he did.
The only thing I want to say is THANKS MIDLAND for bringing in one of the best acts I’ve ever had the opportunity to know, … The Larry McCray Band!
Even the mascot from Midland's new baseball team, Lou E. Loon was having a great time.
